Disney Cruise

Well, a few weeks ago we went on our Disney cruise and it was AMAZING! Check out the video below from our Pirate Adventure in Grand Caymen. Greg is so FUN! Almost 6 years of marriage and I love him more today than ever. It was great to take some time to play & be 'kids'.

Check out the link to more photos on my Facebook.

The Relay for Life

Well, we are back from vacation and had a wonderful and relaxing time. Since being back we have jumped right back into hanging with our EPIC kids.

Last Friday we supported the 'Relay for Life' and ended up having a hang out time with ice cream sundays and video games afterward. It ended up being all guys that came back to our place and it was really cool to see their different personalities and what a fun time they were having - each of them have their own 'stuff' and most don't have kids to hang out with on the weekends. God is building a community and family for those who don't really have one.

Here are some photos from the Relay for Life.

Boot Camp

Tomorrow night at EPIC we kick off our Boot Camp Series. I am so excited, God has big things in store.  Working with teens is not always a rewarding job in the here and now, but this text below reminds me of the important part my team plays in the lives of the teenagers we work with.

Making a Difference

You don't have to actually answer the questions below. Just read the text straight through, and you'll get the point.

  • Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
  • Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
  • Name the last five winners of the Miss America title.
  • Name ten people who have won either the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
  • Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
  • Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

  • List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
  • Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
  • Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
  • Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
  • Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
